SD 11 Finally Over

In the last state senate race to be decided, incumbent State Senator, Frank Padavan has won.  With 265 ballots being fought over, Padavan holds a 578 vote lead.  Challenger Jim Genarro put up a great fight and almost took out a long time incumbent. Padavan drew much criticism during the campaign for attacking St.

Update on SD 11

Today at a hearing on the ballots in the SD 11 case, the judge ordered that the St. Johns students that were subpoenaed could leave because they where not about counting the votes but about intimidating the students. According to the NYTimes:
...at a hearing that lasted just half an hour, Justice Kevin J. Kerrigan of State Supreme Court stated that the subpoenas were nothing more than a nuisance and ordered that they be dismissed.

Congressman Randy Kuhl: Unfit to Represent our Nation's Youth

Tomorrow, students will be proudly showing up to vote on Election Day in the largest numbers this country has seen in decades. College Students want leadership and change and Congressman Randy Kuhl from the NY-29 has not represented our nation's youth during his time in office. Congressman Kuhl has repeatedly voted against increases to student aid that would make the cost of college tuition more affordable and less of a burden on families.

Kryzan Gets WFP Line, One Step closer to Victory

After a long and contentious battle to get Jon Powers off of the WFP line and to get Alice Kryzan on the line, an appellate court judge has ruled that Powers will be off the line and Kryzan will get it.

El Diario Endorses Addabbo

El Diario, the largest Spanish language newspaper in the Northeast has decided to endorse Councilman joe Addabbo for State Senate. This is one of our best chances to take back a seat in the senate and this endorsement will go far to help. The district that he will represent is 26% Hispanic.
