SD 11 Finally Over

In the last state senate race to be decided, incumbent State Senator, Frank Padavan has won.  With 265 ballots being fought over, Padavan holds a 578 vote lead.  Challenger Jim Genarro put up a great fight and almost took out a long time incumbent. Padavan drew much criticism during the campaign for attacking St. Johns University students and then making them miss school to testify that they did in fact cast their votes.  Senator Padavan has also been linked to the worst parts of the Republican party in regards to issues like immigration. This close victory for Padavan will mean that SD 11 is a major focus in the 2010 election.
