As the numbers come out, it's becoming clear that young democrats and college democrats did a lot of work to help win this election. There's an article from the New York Daily News that highlights this point:
But Tuesday's presidential election brought an outpouring of enthusiasm - and first time votes - for college students across the Bronx. Case in point: Fordham University, where students on Election Night said they were most excited about an Obama presidency because they can only remember politics being "depressing." "I feel like George Bush has been President my whole life," said Fordham freshman Colleen Taylor, 18, who was 10 years old at the start of Bush's first term.Fordham University Democrats were just one of the many chapters in New York that sent students to knock on doors, to make phone calls, and to canvas and campaign for Obama.
